How you can get Confidence from your fitness
Quick Recap of Last Two Posts
Part 1: What is 1:1 Programming
Summed up quickly, it is a fully personalized programming regimen to fit your fitness wants & needs. This is all done by a coach that you have full access to. It is the quickest and most efficient way to reach your fitness goals.
Four Major Benefits
Accountability
Outward accountability from coach check-ins & inward accountability because of paid premium and not wanting to let your coach down.
Convenience & Efficiency
Put zero thought into what you’re doing for your workouts and be confident knowing your coach has you on a well crafted and efficient program, specifically designed for you.
Prevent Injury
A coach programs specifically for optimal training & recovery. Your coach also can adjust your programming at a moments notice if something hurts.
Confidence & Motivation
Whether you’re a competitor or a stay at home mom, reaching fitness goals is a confidence that spreads to every area of your life. This confidence naturally breeds motivation. 1:1 Programming is not just an investment in your fitness, it’s an investment in a better you.
Part 2: Why 1:1 Programming? Objections & Examples
While it’s really hard to give you the feeling of 1:1 Programming, I wanted to give some examples of what a week of programming can look like by giving different programming scenarios for different types of people.
-
Example #1: Client Joe
Joe has a home gym with a barbell, squat rack, and dumbbells. He wants to train 4 days per week, 60 minutes per session. Joe’s number one goal is that he wants to hit a new squat clean PR but he also wants some conditioning twice a week.
-
Example #2: Client Sally
Sally is a stay at home mom and only has access to a kettlebell. She’s pretty busy throughout the day but wants to workout at least 30 minutes Monday-Friday. Her goals are to lose some weight and work on her abs.
-
Example #3: Client Jon
Jon goes to a CrossFit gym and has access to any equipment necessary. He wants to train 5 days a week, with two sessions on Monday and Friday. He is very competitive and wants to try and compete in CrossFit at a high level.
Common Questions (Top Three)
Why is this a better option than paying for a monthly programming like Rich Froning’s Mayhem or Mat Fraser’s HWPO?
While programs like Mayhem or HWPO are great programs, the issue is that it’s not programmed specifically for you. These programs are created for a general purpose and you just pay to follow along. It is not created to fit your specific goals, it is not created based off of the equipment you have access to, and ultimately you do not have a coach that you can reach out to at any time. 1:1 Programming is like having a cheat code for reaching your goals. Have to travel unexpectedly for the rest of the week and will only have a hotel gym? Text your coach and they will revamp the rest of your week, all while keeping your specific goals in mind.
I don’t have access to much equipment, Is 1:1 Programming still worth it?
If you want the convenience, accountability, and goal progression, then absolutely. It doesn’t take much equipment to effectively program. A coach takes everything into account and works well with what you have access to!
Why do I need 1:1 Programming if I go to a CrossFit Gym already?
CrossFit gyms are some of the best ways to make training truly enjoyable. The community aspect is great! While the community is awesome, the gym programming may not be enough for you to reach your goals. Do you want to finally get that first pull-up? Finally get that first muscle up? Squat Clean 300 pounds? It’s most likely going to take more than just class work. Again, the gym programming isn’t designed specifically for you and your goals.
Do you want to compete? That takes a lot of well thought out programming for your individual strengths and weaknesses. A coach creates programming specifically designed to improve those weaknesses and keep those strengths getting stronger!
Maybe it’s tough to make it to class times every day and sometimes working out at your home gym is more convenient. A coach can program your home gym days so that it fits your timing and needs perfectly!
Part Three (Final): How you can get Confidence from your fitness
We discussed What 1:1 Personalized Programming is in part one, discussed Why in part two, now we will discuss the How.
Over my 5 years of coaching and programming, I have seen one thing for certain: Having consistency and reaching goals in fitness gives people an Unshakeable Confidence that spreads to other areas of their life. This happens for a couple of reasons.
For one, you’re setting goals and you’re reaching them. You are constantly feeling a sense of accomplishment and that is powerful. Most of us have bad experiences with setting goals. It’s not fun to chase a goal, only to be faced with the realization that you’re not going to achieve it. It’s discouraging, and not fun. With 1:1 Programming, your coach’s number one priority is to help you reach those goals. They’re good at it too! I’ve helped plenty of clients hit a PR or reach a goal that they were looking for. All you have to do is follow your coach’s lead! Don’t underestimate that sense of accomplishment.
Another reason for people creating their unshakeable confidence is they’re becoming fitter. With thoughtfully constructed exercise designed by a coach, you’re going to become fitter and healthier. When you become fitter and healthier, you’re going to feel better and you’re most definitely going to look better. Naturally, this is a major boost to our confidence. From the way we wake up in the morning to the way we carry ourselves, we’re proud of ourselves in a health way.
Like I was saying earlier, this type of confidence is something that doesn’t just apply to your fitness. This confidence will make you finally try that business idea you’ve been thinking about for years. You’ll finally find that motivation to stand out at work and get that promotion. You’ll finally work up the nerve to go talk to that girl. You’ll finally be able to play sports with your kids. These are just a few examples that I’ve seen personally but the point is, 1:1 Programming is Powerful. It is more than just an investment into your fitness.

Here are also a couple client testimonials from two of my current clients!
“Tyler has been designing my personalized training program since April. In the past eight months, I’ve been extremely motivated to accomplish the goals we co-create, whether they are for functional purposes like getting stronger to manage walks with a fast-growing Rhodesian puppy or crossfit-centered to shave off time specific WODS like Murph and Fran. I love how his programming pushes me out of my comfort zone, and I value how he analyzes my weekly results and feedback to modify my programming’s structure to make sure it answers to my changing schedule, demands, and interests. But, above all, I appreciate how Tyler’s constant support helps me stay focused, disciplined, and hungry to continue improving my performance.” - Ana
“I’ve been training with Tyler for almost 1 year now, and he is one of the most experienced & committed trainers I have worked with. I was looking for some personal training to help me with some weaknesses in my crossfit skills. I found TKO programming.
Tyler is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow enjoyable). I’ve seen improvements in my ability to complete more reps in Double Unders, lift progressively heavier weights & generally push myself harder throughout each session. I actually look forward to my workouts.
Importantly Tyler:
- treats me like an athlete and not like a 61 year old female just wanting to stay fit
– is always prompt in answering questions and emails
– is extremely reliable & punctual – always has my weekly program set up & ready to start training ahead of time, with an exercise routine planned for the week.
- always makes contact and answers my emails tweaking my program to suit what is going on in my life- lockdowns can mean limited equipment. Tyler has worked my program around this.
- is constantly checking in and takes a vested interest in my competition results.
- is extremely personable and he genuinely cares about you.
I hope I get the opportunity to meet Tyler in person one day.
Thanks Tyler for always being supportive and encouraging.” - Hilary
